Designing your garden

The brief.

We would arrange a visit to your garden to build a design brief. This would be where you would outline any ideas you have i.e. favourite colours, textures, potential views, plants, structures and your budget. We would then build a mood board.

The survey.

A survey of the garden would be required to take accurate measurements, photos and notes on features of the house, boundaries, existing plants and trees, water main covers and access points. This would also include a soil test to find the exact PH of the soil and type to make sure the plants in the design would thrive.

Presentation plan.

A plan will be drawn to scale to give you a visual impression of ideas discussed. This will include hard landscaping, features, soft landscaping and descriptions of the design elements. The design will reflect the brief.

Planting plan.

The next step is to provide a planting design. The plan includes names, quantities and positioning of all the plants the garden design will feature. Working with local nurseries to achieve this, we will find the best quality and prices.

The Build.

With my years of experience I would be very hands on with the hard and soft landscaping. For larger projects I would manage the site to ensure the design is being followed as agreed and that the work is going according to the time scale set out. This ensures quality is met and every detail is followed to the standards I pride myself on.

I love to set out and plant all the plants I have chosen for your garden. This to me is the finishing touches that links all the elements, sealing in the creativity and nature of a garden that will bring many months and years of interest to come.
